About Dublin Orientation

(Dublin, Ireland)

Home to a population of more than one million inhabitants, Dublin is a surprisingly large city, divided into northerly and southerly regions by the River Liffey, which snakes through much of central Dublin.

Dublin Orientation: Layout and Directions

The southern side of Dublin is home to numerous historic landmarks and buildings, together with shopping centres, theatres, cinemas and restaurants. South from College Green, a bustling intersection around Trinity College, you will find Dublin's thriving commercial and social heart, based around Grafton Street.

Heading in a westerly direction from Trinity College you will reach the lively Temple Bar district, which is known for its cobbled lanes, bars and nightlife, being overlooked by the nearby Dublin Castle. To the north of the Liffey, the historic Smithfield area and O'Connell Street are also worthy of a visit.
